Last Friday Zaylee's dad come to school to show us a beehive.
His job is to look after bees, he is a bee keeper.
He showed us a smoker.
He showed us his bee suit and gloves that he wears so that the bees don't sting him.
He showed us the wax.
He showed us the beehive.
We found the queen bee. She was longer than the other bees. She got covered up by all the other bees.
We needed some new play dough for our classroom.
"We were stirring it" said Amber.
"We put some food colouring in it" said Rubylee.
" We put flour in it" said Ollie.
"We put blue colour in it" said Tamati.
"We were stirring the dough" said Ziggy.
"We were all taking turns" said Leah.
We want more butterflies to come to our school garden.
We planted some flowers to make a garden that the butterflies can come and eat at.
Yesterday, we did sports on the field.
We did tag, cricket, soccer kicks, egg and spoon, rugby passes and an obstacle course.
We had lots of fun.
The big kids (tuakana) helped us with the games and activities.
We went to the beach with our whole school.
We went on the bus.
Our whanau came.
We connected with our local environment.
We had LOTS of fun.
