Making Besswax Wraps

 We made beeswax wrappers.

We can put our sandwiches in them.

Beeswax wrappers help Papatuanuku because then we wont use as much plastic to wrap our sandwiches. 

First we coloured in the material and drew pictures on it.

We melted the beeswax and added some oil into the frying pan.

Then Sharee helped us to cover our material with the melted beeswax.

We held it while it dried and dripped.

Our Bee Visitor

Last Friday Zaylee's dad come to school to show us a beehive.

His job is to look after bees, he is a bee keeper.

He showed us a smoker.

He showed us his bee suit and gloves that he wears so that the bees don't sting him.

He showed us the wax.

He showed us the beehive.

We found the queen bee.  She was longer than the other bees.  She got covered up by all the other bees.

Making playdough

 We needed some new play dough for our classroom.

"We were stirring it" said Amber.

"We put some food colouring in it" said Rubylee.

" We put flour in it" said Ollie.

"We put blue colour in it" said Tamati.

"We were stirring the dough" said Ziggy.

"We were all taking turns" said Leah.

Our Butterfly Garden

We want more butterflies to come to our school garden. 

We planted some flowers to make a garden that the butterflies can come and eat at.

We made a sign so that people know this is a butterfly garden and to please look after it!
